Ngorongoro by Reinhard Kunkel — First US Edition, First Printing, HarperCollins 1992

Reinhard Künkel spent years photographing the Ngorongoro Crater in northern Tanzania, and this oversized HarperCollins volume is the result — elephants on wet-season grass, lesser flamingos on Lake Makat, black rhino, buffalo, and the crater rim under morning mist, reproduced at a scale the photographs deserve.

Every element on the copyright page agrees: the HarperCollins New York publication statement for 1992, a 1992 copyright to Künkel for photographs and text, Library of Congress card number 92-53123, ISBN 0-06-016948-6, and a printer's key reading 92 93 94 95 96 alongside 10 9 8 7 6 5 4 3 2 1 — lowest year 92, lowest printing 1. The Harvill edition appeared in Great Britain the same year.
